As a psychologist with a law degree, I have been working at the intersection of mental health and law for decades, helping parents to resolve difficult matters with dignity and integrity. Working together with experienced attorneys, I provide Interdisciplinary Mediation and Parenting Coordination services to families, allowing for expedient and cost-efficient resolution of family law matters.
Having trained as a child custody mediator, and with over 10 years of experience providing custody recommendations to judicial officers, I offer mediation and coparenting counseling to high-conflict couples, helping them to focus on the impact of conflict on child development. I have expertise in working with young children in particular and have written numerous articles and presented nationally on psychological trauma, infant mental health and parenting.
I perform child custody and other court-appointed evaluations, specializing in cases that involve domestic violence, sexual abuse and parental mental illness. Additionally, I have administered several hundred psychological assessments of mentally ill male inmates, many of whom committed crimes of sexual and physical violence, and my reports have informed inmate housing and mental health treatment, Board of Parole reviews and civil detainment release hearings.
In addition to working with children and families, I offer psychotherapy to adults who are experiencing relational challenges or are struggling with depression or other emotional stresses, and I work with children and adults who have been subjected to or are perpetrators of physical or sexual assault.
